Lingoo Jatra performed during dashain festival

Different jatras are performed during different festival occasions. Among many, (Dahi Jatra)Curd Splashing Festival is one of the unique jatra performed in this village. This jatra is similar to holi and la Tomatina but the only difference is curd (yogurt) is used instead of water, colors, and tomatoes.
Apart from jatras, Tauthali is famous for Newari cultural dance too performed by the priests of Tripura Sundari Temple on several festival occasion i.e. Dashain, Janai Purnima, etc.
One of the country's biggest rope way which is not in operation at the present moment is located in this village (Dolakha-Sindhupalchwok conveyor).
If you are seeking adventures than the trekking route from Kharidhungha to Tauthali covers around 10 km. While traveling this route you will be able to enjoy the scenery of beautiful mountains range, hills, floras, and faunas. Not only that people living in this locality (Newar Community) are fond of traveling to Kalinchwok by walking from this village especially during Dashain festival.

Dolakha-Sindhupalchwok Rope Way is a rope way conveyor connecting the talc and magnesium mine at Kharidhunga with the processing plant at Lamosanghu in Nepal. It is one of the longest ropeways in Nepal, crossing two districts: Sindhupalchok and Dolakha. The talc plant used to be 3rd largest talc plant in South Asia. The ropeway is 10.3 kilometers (6.4 mi) long. Ropeway Situated at Tauthali It travels through Kharidhunga, Tauthali, Tekanpur and Lamosangu. It was operational in the 1990's, but has since been closed down. The reason behind that was the payment issue of electricity bill at that time. Tripura Sundari Mai Temple Curd Splashing Festival ( दही जात्रा ) is an annual ritual performed by the local people (especially youth) of Tauthali village. It takes place the day after Bijaya Dashami . Locals who are involved in this jatra splatter curd (in south Asia, curd refers to traditional home-made yogurt, dahi ) [1] on one another. Dahi Jaatraa begins with an offering of curd to the local goddess Tripura Sundari Mai, held in Tripura village body ( त्रिपुरा गाउँपलिका ) of Sindhupalchok District . This tradition is celebrated only at Tauthali, in the temple of goddess Shree Tripura Sundari Maai. It is similar to the La Tomatina festival held in Spain, where participants throw tomatoes at other participants for fun.
